I have been lucky at DigitasLBi to have led many projects over the years, spanning many industries and representing a range of interesting challenges.
Tarkett was a global site re-platform and rebranding. The core challenge was updating a digital experience that was being held back by its B2B history, as well as creating an experience with supporting content that would meet the goals of an audience ranging from architects to flooring installers to janitors. Our design strategy was to embrace B2C experience principles and move the brand closer to the lifestyle category. We also did a great deal of research, resulting in a Customer Moments Map you can explore in Experience Mapping.
PayPal briefed our CRM team to come up with a communication strategy for the relaunch of their PayPal Here mobile card reader, and as part of the strategy we submitted recommendations for improvements to the online experience. I had a team of 1 visual designer and myself - and only one day to produce the recommendations - so we focused on cleaning up the experience and delivering 4 key pages with clear narrative arcs, calls-to-action, and improved interactive elements for engagement.
Uniper approached us based on our long-standing relationship with E.ON and briefed us to replace manually-produced weekly spreadsheets containing energy prices and trades. The information is mainly used by their C-level executives for monitoring and reporting, so it has to be accessible at-a-glance. We created a prototype to show how we could simplify the information and tested it with several of the end users. We are now taking this closer to production.
Storytelling is a particular passion of mine, so I was excited to create the storyboard for an online advert for the launch of the BBC’s new YouView IPTV platform. Working with an illustrator I concepted and wrote the ad. Previously I had been one of the principle UX designers on the platform at the BBC. You can explore more about that project in Creative Technology.
A complete B2B brand refresh and hefty IA and UX challenge. Also a fully UCD project with multiple rounds of user testing. Watch the video to hear a bit more about our methodology. You can also explore one of the clickable prototypes we built in Axure to test with users in the lab.
A quick turnaround refresh of the PayPal Here website focused less on visual design and more on content, message hierarchy and potential interactivity to increase engagement.
A simple concept film for an internal app to improve the experience of monitoring energy prices. We used this to gather user feedback and communicate the idea to stakeholders.
The storyboard for an ad spot explaining the exciting new world of Internet-connected TV. The challenge was to explain a concept relatively foreign to consumers at the time.
